Nonlinear Periodic Oscillation of a Cylindrical Microvoid Centered at an Isotropic Incompressible Ogden Cylinder

چکیده
We study the dynamicmathematical model for an infinitely long cylinder composed of an isotropic incompressible Ogden material with a microvoid at its center, where the outer surface of the cylinder is subjected to a uniform radial tensile load. Using the incompressibility condition and the boundary conditions, we obtain a second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation that describes the motion of the microvoid with time. Qualitatively, we find that this equation has two types of solutions. One is a classical nonlinear periodic solution which describes that the motion of the microvoid is a nonlinear periodic oscillation; the other is a blow-up solution. Significantly, for the isotropic incompressible Ogden material, there exist some special values of material parameters, the phase diagrams of the motion equation have homoclinic orbits, which means that the amplitude of a nonlinear periodic oscillation increases discontinuously with the increasing load.

Nonlinear analytical solution of nearly incompressible hyperelastic cylinder with variable thickness under non-uniform pressure by perturbation technique
In this paper, nonlinear analytical solution of pressurized thick cylindrical shells with variable thickness made of hyperelastic materials is presented. The governing equilibrium equations for the cylindrical shell with variable thickness under non-uniform internal pressure are derived based on first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The shell is assumed to be made of isotropic and homoge...
متن کاملThermal Field Around a Circular Cylinder with Periodic Vortex Shedding
A numerical study is carried out to investigate the laminar forced convection heat transfer from a circular cylinder. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible, the Reynolds number ranged from 0.1 to 1000, and the Prandtl number was equal to 0.7. The range of study includes heat transfer in creeping flow (Re40). The equations were discretized by a control-volume-based finite difference techniqu...

In this paper, Newton Harmonic Balance Method (NHBM) is applied to obtain the analytical solution for an electron beam injected into a plasma tube where the magnetic field is cylindrical and increases towards the axis in inverse proportion to the radius. Periodic solution is analytically verified and consequently the relation between the Natural Frequency and the amplitude is obtained in an ana...
متن کاملAsymmetric bifurcations of thick-walled circular cylindrical elastic tubes under axial loading and external pressure
In this paper, we consider bifurcation from a circular cylindrical deformed configuration of a thick-walled circular cylindrical tube of incompressible isotropic elastic material subject to combined axial loading and external pressure. In particular, we examine both axisymmetric and asymmetric modes of bifurcation. The analysis is based on the three-dimensional incremental equilibrium equations...
متن کاملFluid-structure interaction between an incompressible, viscous 3D fluid and an elastic shell with nonlinear Koiter membrane energy
The long-time existence of a weak solution is proved for a nonlinear, fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problem between an incompressible, viscous fluid and a semilinear cylindrical Koiter membrane shell with inertia. No axial symmetry is assumed in the problem. The fluid flow is driven by the timedependent dynamic pressure data prescribed at the inlet and outlet boundaries of the 3D cylindrica...
